Since July 2026, Canada Post has temporarily suspended parcel service to several European Union countries, following the entry into force of new EU customs rules.

We use a very reliable alternative service that consolidates shipments in bulk to keep shipping costs down. This company works with major carriers such as FedEx and Purolator, which usually charge more.

Status of postal shipments to the EU

Countries where shipments are suspended: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg and Portugal. Canada Post is not accepting parcels to these destinations until further notice.

Countries still served: service continues to the other EU countries, including Spain, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Latvia and Sweden.

Why the delays and suspensions: since July 1, 2026, the EU charges a customs duty of €3 per item on low-value parcels imported from outside the EU, and requires strict electronic customs data before flights depart.

Usual delivery times (outside the suspension, or through alternative carriers): with private courier services (such as FedEx or UPS, which keep shipping at a higher cost), delivery to Europe usually takes 3 to 15 business days, but mandatory electronic customs checks can extend these times.

Because of these EU restrictions, some orders may, in rare and unpredictable cases, take longer than expected to arrive. It doesn't happen every time, but customs clearance is sometimes slower, especially right now.
