1401

The Cutler and Gross 1401 approaches the square optical silhouette with pronounced proportions and a front face with a distinctly graphic frame. The lenses rest on solid edges that widen towards the upper corners, while the slightly rounded lower edges soften the otherwise angular composition. A sculpted bridge with a shallow central depression adds definition without interrupting the strong horizontal line of the frame.

The Brush Stroke colour is particularly expressive from the front, combining dark brown and almost black areas with irregular variations of amber, caramel and warm orange. The visible surface has a polished appearance, which allows the layered pattern to become more noticeable as it moves over the rims and top frame. Small paired metal details are visible near each outer corner of the front, providing a restricted point of contrast.

The size of the circles is 51mm, the bridge is 21mm and the length of the branches is 150mm.
