The Cutler and Gross GR09 takes a bold approach to the soft square optical silhouette. Its substantial edges surround the openings of the gently rounded lenses, creating a shape that seems structured without becoming rigid. The upper frame line is wide and defined, while the compact bridge maintains a sharp visual transition between lenses. In close-up, the frame displays a pronounced depth across the front and temples.

The colour Striped Dark Green is particularly expressive. The deep forest green tones are superimposed with lighter translucent streaks that become more apparent along the temple and lower border. The polished surface accentuates these tonal variations and gives the color an extra dimension. Small decorative metal pins are visible on the outer face and temple, introducing a point of restricted contrast.
