The Cutler and Gross GR16 approaches the rounded optical silhouette with controlled proportions and a subtle architectural detail. Its lens openings have a slightly rounded, slightly rectangular character, with a slight flattening along the upper line that gives the front a compound profile. A pronounced keyhole-style bridge introduces a recognizable central detail without overwhelming the frame.

The visible olive color has a translucent quality, shifting from lighter olive-brown tones to deeper areas around the edges and outer edges. A smooth and polished surface highlights these tonal variations. At each front outer corner, visible paired rivets provide a small graphic accent, while the branches extend from relatively large end pieces.
